I'm thinking we might plan a trip to Tasmania next year. I've never been and have always wanted to go. Only Virgin Blue fly direct from Adelaide these days, which begs the question, should we drive to Melb and get the boat over, or should we do the fly-drive thing? And which is the best time of year? I'm thinking April, but maybe September?
So many decisions....
FLY-Drive. Trust me. Why?
ReplyDelete1) you have to drive all the way to Melbourne
2) then endure a full day (or sleepless night) on the Spirit of Tasmania which is one of the most mind-numbingly boring journeys I've experienced in recent years
3) have your holiday
4) do another stretch on the Spirit of Tasmania
5) drive all the way back home.

I'd forgotten that you did the Tasmania thing. To be fair, if we drove to Melb we'd stay a day or so before getting on the boat, but I hadn't realised how long it took to get there. Hmmm you're right, maybe too much driving, definitely will be flying.
ReplyDeleteSo would a week be enough? I'm thinking 10 days might be better.
AT least ten days - we spent a fortnight there and could have quite happily had a few more days.
