Ok, so here's the first finished project.....pink quilt for Miss R. Very pleased with the end result and I LOVE the back.....fabric from Ikea that was dirt cheap and looks great (so thanks Theresa for putting me onto it) and then I just added pieced scraps in a strip. Binding is the Ikea fabric.
Looks lovely - I like the big pieces - I think you may have anwered my "what am I goingh to do with all me new kaffe fassett question??"- come to Sew and Sews in the holidays and bring the quilt with you - 1 October at my house.
ReplyDeleteSure, would love to - just let me know what time. The big squares would really suit Kaffe!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's lovely - and this is coming from someone who FAILED the sewing component of home economics in year 9. I can still appreciate quality when I see it!
ReplyDeleteLOL Kath, I failed miserably at home economics too but straight lines are easy. Much more fun than making a reversible vest that I wouldn't be caught dead in!
ReplyDeleteHey Kay, this quilt is gorgeous. Miss R is one lucky girl. Now that I see that Ikea fabric quilted up I want to use it....is that wrong to think about a back before a front?? Well done....and the books look interesting too.
ReplyDeleteKay...I'm back again. I'm intrigued with this pattern. I'm staring and staring and can't work out how you did it. I love it. You'll just have to share it with us when you come to Sew & Sew's!
